Powering Progress: Solar Energy at Par Health’s Indore Site

Research & Innovation Sustainability

In 2024, Par Health completed a solar power installation at our manufacturing site in Indore, India—marking a significant step in our efforts to reduce environmental impact and transition to cleaner energy sources.

This initiative is part of our broader sustainability strategy to improve energy efficiency across global operations. The Indore solar plant demonstrates how targeted investments in renewable energy can deliver measurable environmental benefits while supporting operational needs.

The solar plant features 460 panels across 1,394 square meters and is now integrated with the site’s electrical grid to power one of our existing buildings.

Key Benefits:

  • Carbon Reduction: Cuts approximately 300 tons of greenhouse gas emissions annually, equivalent to planting 350 trees each year.
  • Clean Energy Generation: Produces up to 1,000 kilowatt-hours (kWh) of renewable energy daily.
  • Operational Efficiency: Supports on-site energy needs through direct grid integration.
  • Innovative, Dual Purpose: Utilizes the vertical space for parked vehicles to efficiently maximize land use, while also providing shade to reduce heat buildup.

With the region’s challenging weather conditions and frequent dust concentrations, the Par Health India team remains focused on keeping the solar panels clean and well-maintained to ensure the plant is consistently operating at the highest performance.

Since its inception, the solar plant has generated over 437,000 kWh units of renewable energy.

“At Par Health, our commitment to sustainability and environmental stewardship is unwavering,” said Sangram Karande, Vice President, Manufacturing, Par Health India. “The launch of our solar power plant marks a transformative step in our journey to reduce our carbon footprint. Through innovative execution, this initiative exemplifies our dedication to optimizing energy use and uncovering meaningful opportunities to minimize our environmental impact. It’s a proud milestone that reflects our values and our vision for a more sustainable future.”
