Connecting Classrooms to Careers: Par Health Hosts Local Educators
Purpose & Community Team & Culture
In June 2024, Par Health hosted nearly 50 educators to its St. Louis manufacturing site as part of the Missouri Chamber of Commerce’s Show-Me Careers program. This initiative gives teachers, counselors, and administrators hands-on exposure to local businesses, providing real-world insights to help prepare students for today’s evolving workforce.
Spotlight on Advanced Manufacturing
As part of the program’s Advanced Manufacturing segment, the site visit gave educators a closer look into pharmaceutical manufacturing. As the largest manufacturing site of Active Pharmaceutical Ingredients (APIs) in the US, our 650,000-square-foot facility in St. Louis serves as a cornerstone of our operations.
Inside the Plant: From Labs to Careers
Educators toured quality labs, manufacturing suites, and the API Development and Support lab, seeing firsthand the teamwork and technical expertise behind our processes.
A panel with leaders from HR, quality, operations, and engineering highlighted:
-
Career pathways in pharmaceutical manufacturing and beyond
-
Technical skills students need to succeed
-
Soft skills like collaboration and problem-solving
Panelists shared their career journeys, educational backgrounds, and the technical and interpersonal skills they value in future talent—offering educators actionable insights to bring back to their classrooms.
Inspiring the Next Generation
“By opening our doors to educators, we’re helping shape curriculum and prepare students for meaningful careers in advanced manufacturing and beyond.”
